Home & Family

The foundation of our society is the family. Many of Extension's programs provide families with research-based answers to their day-to-day challenges. Extension is ready with answers on controlling household insects, protecting well-water, managing a family budget, helping families improve their eating habits, or dealing with the special concerns related to early childhood, parenting, or aging.

To provide families with solutions they need to address the struggling economy, the NC State University Family and Consumer Sciences program faculty have created "Take Control," a series of fact sheets on a variety of topics related to the economy including tips on saving money, talking to children about the economy, shopping for healthy foods on a tight budget, avoiding home foreclosure and many other timely topics.
