Please see the statement below from Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler on the temporary suspension of weight restrictions to haul livestock, poultry, feed, and crops in the state to help farmers in preparation of Hurricane Irma:

NCDA&CS Hot Line

The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services activated its toll-free hotline on Saturday, September 9, at 7 a.m. to help connect farmers with resources that can assist with agricultural emergencies. The toll-free number is 1-866-645-9403. The hotline will operate 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Impact to farms could include power outages, damage to crops and agricultural buildings, and animal health emergencies. Emergency information and recovery resources may be found online at www.ncagr.gov/disaster.
