Economy:
- Result Summary of the Economic Impact Study at Wine America: 727 wineries in 45 states have returned the survey (March 15–April 15). 15% of wineries stopped production, 62% slowed production down. Tasting room sales decreased 75%, even with the majority of wineries implementing some sort of adapted sales strategies. Surprisingly, wholesales declined as well by 30%. Take Our Survey
N.C. Cooperative Extension seeks to assess the impact of COVID-19 on the agritourism industry in North Carolina, in order to shape our extension response.
This survey is approved by the NC State IRB. It is conducted by extension specialists of the Department of Horticultural Science at NC State University in collaboration with CEFS and the NC State University Local Foods Initiative.
