An age-old gardening practice has taken the nation by storm and everyone wants in. Have you considered the art of bonsai? Bonsai is the gardening art of mimicking nature by creating and manipulating a small plant to appear as a mature tree. If you have ever considered trying it, then this is the class for you. We have Derick Grubb, an experienced bonsai artist, who will be discussing every aspect of this ancient art.

The first orientation class will be at the O. P. Owens Center, Saturday, February 21, at 10:00 a.m. If you're ready to give it a try, a second class will be held Saturday, March 21, at 10:00 a.m. also at the O. P. Owens Center. During the second bonsai class, Derick will demonstrate root pruning as well as the techniques used during repotting of a tree, branch selection to enhance a tree’s shape, and beginning wiring techniques will also be demonstrated.
