In 2014 and 2017, local farmers had the opportunity to learn how to understand and implement farm business planning principles for successful risk management decision making. In 2022, farmers will have another opportunity to learn more about these risks and develop their personal risk management plan by attending a series of Developing Marketing Plans and Strategies Workshops.
Due to COVID, the following changes have been made to the workshop:
The series will consist of seven Zoom sessions, followed by one in-person workshop (see times and dates below). Graduation certificates will be presented at the in-person workshop. Participants will attend all eight activities. You must attend all meetings to graduate.
The presenters for the workshops will be Dr. Laurence Crane of National Crop Insurance Services and Dr. Albert Essel, Executive Administrator, Association of 1890 Extension Administrators. Workshops will consist of formal instruction, group discussion, hands-on activities, and at-home assignments. The information presented during the Zoom sessions will build on each other, with specific individual study (homework) assignments to be conducted following each session. Local Extension educators will also participate and will provide assistance in between sessions to the producers on an individual basis to help with the homework assignments and ensure they are completed.
Space is limited to 40 participants. Registration is required to participate and registration ends January 21, 2022. To register, visit the following link https://go.ncsu.edu/riskmangementplans. After registering you will receive an email with the Zoom link. Zoom can be downloaded as an app on your phone, tablet, or computer.
