This educational event will provide farmers with a better understanding of farm taxes and teach the latest about new tax laws for 2026.
The workshop will be taught by Dr. Raymond Thomas, Agribusiness/Marketing Specialist, with Extension of North Carolina A&T State University Extension and Alaqua Jacobs with The Tennie Group, LLC. (we as an organization are not endorsing Tennie Group Services to our farmers). Training will be held on March 5 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the O.P. Owens Agriculture Center, located at 455 Caton Road in Lumberton. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.Some of the topics will include:
- Schedule F (Form 1040)
- Estate and Succession Planning
- Hobby Farm vs. Business
- Record Keeping
- Deduction and Expenses
- New tax laws for 2026
